WORKING WITH CHILDREN PERMIT: All VGL Committee members associated with our Junior events and Junior programs, have undergone a police check and obtained a "Working with Children Permit." We encourage all Clubs in the VGL to do this same. This is free service for volunteers, and application forms can be obtained from most Post Offices. PROGRAMMES: The Victorian Golf League has a programme for the Junior Members of Clubs. They range from Pennant, events and a Junior Camp. This camp is held in the 2nd week of the September school holidays, at the Mirboo Golf Course, with accommodation at the Leagues Motel. Juniors must be a Financial Member of a Golf Club to attend.
JUNIOR CAMP:
The is open to boys aged between 12 and 16 years old. Participants will be given the opportunity to benefit from a period of intensive coaching in basic skills and extensive practice sessions. Also in the evenings Rule seminars are held. The camp this year is to be held at the Mirboo North Golf Club and the accommodation at the 1st Tee Motel situated at the course. The cost for 2008 is $ 195.00 (GST incl.) per player, which includes transport from Melbourne to Mirboo North and return, all meals and accommodation, golf tuition and tournament entry fees. The full camp fee must be paid with application. The maximum number of participants that can be accommodated is 36. The equipment needed and it is recommended that clubs should be carried in a carry bag where possible. A full set of clubs is not necessary to take part in the camp, but would be useful for the tournament on the final day. Please note that the approval of the participants parents will be required before he may take part in the camp.
